Faculty of Teacher Training and Education Sebelas Maret University, November 2016. This research aims at finding out (1) quadrant position of each study program in the dapartment Ex-Schools of Social Sciences PIPS FKIP UNS using SWOT analysis method.
SWOT adalah singkatan dari strength,weakneses, Opportunities and Threats (kekuatan, kelemahan, peluang dan Ancaman).Analisis SWOT sudah menjadi alat yang umum digunakan dalam perencanaan strategis pendidikan, namun ia tetap merupakan alat yang efektif dalam menempatkan potensi institusi. SWOT adalah merupakan sebuah pendekatan dan paling mutakhir dalam dunia menajemen.
(2) strategic planning Study Program in the Department of Ex-Schools of Social Sciences PIPS FKIP UNS development efforts study program by using the SWOT method. This research made a quantitative and qualitative approaches.
Population of the research was all of stakeholder Study Program in the Department of Ex-Schools of Social Sciences PIPS FKIP UNS Surakarta. The number of the samples of research was determined by using the purposive sampling technique.

The data of research were collected through questionnaire, interview and documentation. The data were analysed by using flow model technique. The results of research show that quadrant position of Study Program Accounting Education, Economics Education, Citizenship Education are located in quadrant I (strengths-opportunities). Study Program Office Administration Education, History Education, Anthropology Sociology Education are located in quadrant II (strengths-threats). Study Program of Geography Education is located in quadrant IV (weakness-threats). (2) Strategic planning which can be applied to the Study Program Accounting Education to development study program using SWOT matrix method that is: (a) conducting an evaluation about the achievement of the vision and mission. (b) giving scholarships to students achievers.

(c) developing the based curriculum KKNI. (d) empowering the competence of lecturers through further studies at both domestic and abroad. (e) taking the periodic maintenance on infrastructure. (f) increasing the motivation lecturers to do research, and community service.
(g) introducing to the world of work by maximizing internship. (h) improving the organizational structure of Study Program. (i) increasing the cooperation with the world of work, either industrial or educational fields. (j) developing the integrated information system with the support of ICT.
(k) establishing good cooperation with the world of work and education (schools). (l) introducing to the general public about Study Program. (m) improving the quality and quantity of research and community service.
